The Hardtails Saloon Story...

It all started out as a down payment of $1.00...Yep, that’s what I said..

”ONE Buck A Roo”

My fiancé at the time thought it would be a great idea to open a small town Biker Bar. Great move on his part because included in the $1.00 deal, he assigned himself the title of “Social Director” and for myself Owner Operator.  Not bad job descriptions for our pretty simple life.  So as it goes...In January of 2000, we opened the doors to a bar that had no name or face.  Of course our fist mission was to find a name.  So we decided to start up a contest to see who could come up with the best one for this new stomping ground.  As it turned out “Our” Hardtails name originated from a suggestion from Bobby Evans of the Alimony Blues Band.  Bobby had played in a band under the name “Hardtails” in the Minneapolis, MN area in the 70/80’s. Perfect name we thought, it represented three main things in our minds.  First, I moved to Hortonville from the Twin-Cities.  Secondly, it represented the vision of the “All American Machine” that we all love. Lastly, that name possibly could represent a few customers stopping in and sharing their “Hard-Tales”.  So it was... The Hardtails Saloon ...we now had a name. As for the  face, it would evolve itself over the life of this great business we started for only $1.00!!

Well here we are in 2008. We’ve come a long way from those original first years of business. Along with the help from our awesome staff members and patrons, we have grown to to be known throughout the USA and even in some countries overseas.   Not bad for a Little Biker Bar located in a town of 2000 people.

We serve some awesome drinks and cook up some great grub for old and new friends that come through our doors. We’ve added some new things as well as kept the old to keep you guessing.

Come out and sit on our new ” really big deck” to enjoy the summertime weather.

 Like Music?...Live entertainment is spontaneously provided throughout the year. 

So, throw a leg and take a ride....Come out and see us~ We’ll be here to make sure you have a great time!!
